Medical Receptionist - Part Time - approx. 30 hours a fortnight  

Queenstown Medical Center is searching for 2 new team members to join our Reception team.  As a Receptionist you will be the first point of contact (phone and face to face) of patient interactions. You will be responsible for a range of activities from helping patients with their enquiries, booking appointments, enrolling new patients, completing payment processes and other administrative duties as required. 

To be successful in this role it is crucial that you enjoy working with people, you are friendly, approachable and have a natural ability to make our patients feel at ease.

You will have: 

  • Extraordinary frontline customer service experience
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping/basic accounting and/or be financially literate
  • Strong multi-tasking skills 
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Adaptable, flexible, and not afraid of a busy day
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Computer and numeracy literate, experience with MedTech32 advantageous 

This position is working on a roster that includes early evenings and weekends and may work at any of our three office locations (Queenstown, Arrowtown, and Frankton). Our hours of operation are 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday.

Permanent GP

We are searching for an 8 sessions permanent GP to join our vibrant practice who will provide medical services in our Accident & Medical and general practice clinics.


You will work on a roster which includes early evenings and the occasional weekend.


To be successful you will possess:

  • A current NZ Registration and Practising Certificate
  • ACLS Level 5 (Core) or higher
  • General practice experience is essential along with exposure to an emergency department environment
  • Preference for RNZCGP Fellowship or near completion

Casual Nurses – Vacancy

We are looking to expand our casual nursing pool.  Are you interested in flexible working arrangements? Are you keen to work in general practice and our Accident & Medical facility?  Are you available for a variety of shifts and days of work which could include weekends and evenings?

QMC is a Cornerstone accredited practice operating in a dynamic and increasingly complex environment to deliver patient care across 3 sites to both local and visitor populations. 

Ideally you have experience in primary health care and/or in an emergency room/walk in clinic type environment.  Our nurses can be rostered to work at any of our three sites.  You must hold a current annual practising certificate.

 To be successful you will be:

 A NZ registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years nursing experience in primary care who is keen to continue in their professional development

  • Experience with Medtech 32 preferred or similar PMS
  • Motivated by working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficient with managing chronic disease
  • Challenged by working with patients towards self-management of health
  • An enthusiastic, innovative and solutions-focused team player
  • Able to deliver nursing practice underpinned by evidence base knowledge
