Twenty registered nurses work in Queenstown Medical Centre’s General Practices and Accident and Medical clinic. The Doctor/Nurse general practice teams at QMC, Arrowtown and Remarkables Park offer full GP services and continuity for patients.
For ease of communication, patients may access their doctor via the nurse’s personal phone extensions for scripts, messages, results etc. If you are diverted to the message service, be assured the nurse will return your call at their first available moment.
Nurses see patients for services including:
- BP checks
- Well Person Assessments
- Smoking Cessation
- Childhood Immunisations
- Cervical Smear taking
- Wound care
- Diabetes and Cardiovascular checks
- Pre-Employment Medicals; employment drug, alcohol, hearing and spriometry tests
- Fracture and Cast care
- Care in conjunction with GP visits
QMC nurses also run clinics including travel advice, bone density ultrasound, diabetes, asthma, education and sexual health.
