Monitor Change for Type 1 Diabetes Patients

Queenstown Medical Centre is changing the CareSens monitors for type 1 diabetic patients.  Some older meters are going to be discontinued and these fancy new Bluetooth monitors are capable of testing glucose and ketones.  Bluetooth also allows communication in real time i.e. what the Blood Sugar Levels are doing while you are at work or your child is at school etc.

Visit your regular pharmacist to collect and, providing this is before 31st July 2018,  some patients will be eligible for an upgrade free of charge.

MoH Questionaire

Tue, 3rd Jul 201812:52:59

As part of a nationwide strategy, the Ministry of health will be conducting surveys to patients attending General Practice. The next cycle of these questionnaires will be 6th to 12th August 2018.  If you have an appointment in general practice during these dates you will be emailed a questionnaire regarding your visit to our surgeries. Whilst this may appear it comes from QMC it is from the Ministry of Health. You have the opportunity to opt off if you do not want to be involved & the Ministry of Health should have instructions of how to do this within their email. All feedback is worthwhile & we support this initiative.”
