GP Telephone Triage Starts 20th February

“Are you enrolled at Queenstown Medical Centre? Are you wanting to see a doctor on the day?

QMC is pleased to announce that from 20th February we are introducing a system called GP Telephone Triage for our enrolled patients.

When you call wanting to see a doctor on the day your details will be taken and shortly, one of our GPs will call you back to discuss your concerns. If needed, an  urgent appointment will be booked for you. However it may be possible for your problem to be sorted without the need to come in and this might be done by advice,  a prescription,  a medical certificate or arrangements for a test to be done in advance of a later appointment.

GP triage ensures that those who are unwell are seen quickly while those who do not need to come in,  have their problems sorted efficiently without the time and expense of attending in person.

QMC will not be charging for advice but standard charges will apply for prescriptions and medical certificates

GP triage is an initiative of the New Zealand Health Care Home collaboration that QMC is proud to be part of and experience shows up to 40% of same day problems can be dealt with on the phone  which is good news for everyone.”
