Mission Statement

The Queenstown Medical Centre (QMC) team continue a long history of excellence and commitment to primary health care delivery in the Wakatipu.

The practice was originally set in up by Dr Pat Farry in 1970. Passionate about growing and improving rural health services for New Zealanders though bringing clinicians together, Pat was a pioneer in this field. We proudly continue this legacy.

QMC today is led by 10 long- standing GP shareholders and a team of associate Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and support staff. Our team are specialist providers of primary care services with a broad range of skills and expertise. We are a trusted first port of call for any health issue for both our local community and our visitors. Many of our clinicians have also developed specialist interests in specific areas.

We are also complimented by a wide range of other visiting specialists and can recommend or refer to other specialists New Zealand wide.

Right care delivered by the right person in the right place at the right time.

Medical Elective

As a teaching practice, QMC is affiliated with the University of Otago School of Medicine and NZ College of GPs. We have a long standing commitment to 5th year students throughout the year on their rural rotation, trainee interns and registrars from Post Graduate GP placements as well as student nurses throughout the year.  In addition to this, we no longer provide medical services on the skifields.

Due to the aforementioned, we are unable to assist with overseas student placements and their continued studies.
