How Our Services & Appointments Work

Appointment times & duration

We appreciate how hard it can be to fit healthcare appointments into busy lives. This is why we offer appointments across all three practices from as early as 8.30am to 4.45pm; catering for needs before school/work, during lunchbreaks and after school/work.

We also operate the only primary care After Hours & Urgent Care service in Queenstown. See opening hours here.

Standard appointments are 15 mins long. If you have more than one new issue and one existing issue, it is advisable to book a double appointment to ensure your health needs are met.

After Hours & Urgent Care is a walk-in service at 9 Isle Street, Queenstown. You do not need an appointment to use this service.

Appointment reminders will be sent out by text the day prior to your booked appointment. Reminders are only able to sent if the appointment was booked by 6pm the day before. Please be aware that we do operate a cancellation policy and there will be times that a charge is passed onto the patient if they are late, or do not attend their appointment. Read more about this policy here.

Booking Appointments

The most efficient way to book your appointment is through our patient portal. You are able to access live availability at any time of day without needing our phone lines to be open. All Doctors, Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurse general consult appointments are available to book at your convenience. You may need to call us for some of our more niche, specialised clinics or specific procedures as these may be available with select clinicians only.

The patient portal can be accessed both on a computer and on your phone. The benefits extend beyond boking appointments and we highly recommend you register yourself. See button for a form to recieve an invitation to sign up for patient portal.

Phone lines are open 8.00am-5.00pm. We answer calls from one location for all of our practices. Please ensure you are double-checking the location you have booked.

Some appointments, such as medicals, do require paperwork being filled out in advance, or documentation to be brought to the appointment. Please make sure you check confirmations we send you and/or the details of each service we offer, here.

Repeat Prescriptions

Requesting your repeat prescriptions is easiest through our patient portal, where you can submit requests at any time, view your current medications, and track the status of your request. You can also order by phone or in person. Standard prescriptions are processes within 48 hours (2 working days), and urgent same-day options are available for an addtional fee.

Your clinician will decide whether a shorter (3-6 month) or longer (up to 12 months) prescription is suitable for you based on your condition and safety needs.

A review may be required before a prescription can be issued, especially if you haven't been seen recently, your condition needs reassessment, or you still have repeats available at your pharmacy.

All prescription requests incur a fee unless issued during a consultation or for enrolled patients under 14, and portal requests require prepayment; Southern Cross members may prefer to order by phone if they want their claim processed directly.

When you arrive at the clinic

It's a good idea to arrive 5 minutes early, in case we need to update any information on our system, or if you have any questions or paperwork before your appointment. Check in with the reception team or if you have signed up for our patient portal you can self check-in from your mobile.

Payment for your appointment can be made through patient portal.

Our friendly First Impressions Team (reception) is here to help. If you have any questions or require help with funding criterias and elibiglity avaliable for some services, please approach the reception desk in any of our practices.

Fees & Funding

Enrolled patients get access to discounted fees for many of our specialised clinics and procedures. Healthcare charging can be complex, and our price lists cover the most commonly charged fees but this is not an exhaustive list. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to ask our FIT team or at the time of your booking.
