Getting the care you need should feel simple and supported. At Queenstown Medical Centre, we’re here to make accessing healthcare easier and more connected for you and your whānau.
With 23 doctors across our three Whakatipu clinics, we’re able to provide flexible appointment options and a range of special interest clinics to support your care.
👩⚕️ A team of doctors with diverse special interests
We're proud to have a team with a range of experiences and special interests. Alongside general practice, many of our doctors have special interests. From women’s health and sexual health to skin health, travel medicine, mental wellbeing, musculoskeletal care, and more.
These special interests allow us to offer focused clinics that support your health journey in a more tailored way. It also means that sometimes, the best doctor to see isn’t your usual GP and that’s a good thing.
🤝 Why you might see a different doctor (and why that’s a positive)
Because our doctors bring different strengths, there will be times when another doctor is better suited to your needs. For example:
- If you have a sexual health concern, our Sexual Health Clinic may be the quickest and most appropriate place to be seen.
- If you need a skin check, seeing one of our doctors, Dr. Milne Simpson, Dr. Niall Curran, or Dr. Anne Hutchison with special interest in skin health may be the best fit for you.
- If you’re preparing for travel, our Travel Medicine Clinic can offer specialised advice and vaccinations.
- If you’ve had an injury, Dr. Euan Speirits with a special interest in sports medicine and musculoskeletal care may be able to help you sooner.
🌿 Our long‑standing doctors are local legends — and that’s why they’re popular
We’re incredibly proud of our long‑term GPs who have cared for Whakatipu families for many years. They’re well‑known, deeply trusted, and often booked well in advance.
🧭 Having more than one doctor can make your care easier
Many patients find it helpful to have two or three doctors they know and feel comfortable with. This gives you more flexibility when you need an appointment and ensures you can be seen sooner — without losing continuity of care.
Our team works collaboratively, so even if you see someone different, your health journey stays connected.

📱A note on Manage My Health — and what’s changing
We know that, Manage My Health, didn’t always make it easy to see where your doctor was working or which clinic they were available in. This sometimes made it seem there was less availability than what we did have.
We’re looking forward to introducing a new patient portal that will hopefully make it much clearer to see who is available and where they’re working.
