Find out how QMC can help your ears
Symptoms associated with blocked ears can be disorientating and painful, which is why we provide quick and easy access to wax removal with a nurse.

How does it work?
Ear syringing, or irrigation, removes the earwax by flushing the ear canal with warm water using a specialized syringe and machine to regulate the flow. The water is gently directed towards the canal's roof to dislodge wax into a basin.
The nurse will monitor the process to ensure your comfort and assess the effectiveness.

How to prepare
Ideally you should use ear drops for several days prior to the procedure to soften the wax and make it easier to dislodge the wax.

Please call to make an appointment to see one of our nurses.
Book an appointment
Call to book your ear wax removal appointment at any of our practices. If you are unsure if you need wax removing, please consult one of our clinicians to check inside your ears. Ear syringing appointments take 30 minutes for both ears.
How to prepare
We recommend a few simple steps before your appointment to maximise the effectiveness of your treatment. Applying 1-2 drops of olive oil or ear drops in the affected ears twice a day for up to 48 hours prior to your appointment will help make the procedure more comfortable.
Follow up if required
In rare cases, a second visit may be required to allow the remaining wax to soften for complete removal - your clinician will explain this during your appointment.
